The scientifically known ‘Cordyline Fruiticosa’ palm is also known as the ‘Red Sister’ palm and is native to tropical southeast Asia, eastern Australia, and some pacific islands such as Hawaii. This is a smaller, shrub-like palm that can grow 9-15 feet outdoors and 3-6 feet indoors. As a broadleaf evergreen, this seasonal blooming palm blooms into a vibrant white and pale lavender color. Grows best in a well-drained, peaty potting mixture in indirect sunlight but does tolerate lightly shaded areas. Needs consistent watering from Spring until Fall and is recommended to do light watering in the winter and keep the palm indoors. The Red Sister palm can be grown indoors but preferably in high humidity areas such as a bathroom.
