The most important part of the palm to protect from the cold is the heart of the palm.
The heart of the palm is the bud, located in the upper area of the trunk, where the fronds start.
For Palms with significant amounts of trunk, extreme cold protection is added by wrapping the heart of the palm (the top half of the trunk) with a thick, warming blanket.
How do I wrap the trunk?
Wrapping the trunk is easy, you can use a cinch, cord, or tape to secure it in place.
Can I wrap it myself?
Depending on the size of your palm, you may need professional assistance to reach the entire.
How long can I leave the blanket on my palm?
