1. Sunlight

Major Totem Pole Cactus needs direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day. 

NOTE: Keep young (less than 3 inches or cutting), in indirect sunlight until established and can handle full sun.

Cacti need very little water.

  • SUMMER: Water once every three weeks.
  • WINTER: Water once every two months.  
  • Overwatering or bad drainage can cause permanent damage to the roots over time. 

3. Fertilization

Fertilize once a month during the Spring and Summer months, with a Cactus and Succulent specific fertilizer. 

4. Soil 

Plant your Cactus with a Cacti and Succulent specific soil mix, giving it the perfect mixture of organic and inorganic elements it needs to thrive. When repotting, be sure to change old soil for fresh potting mix.

5. Repotting

It is necessary to repot your Major Totem Pole Cactus every two years, in order to allow it room to grow and more importantly, to change all the soil for fresh potting mix. 

6. Handling and Safety

Major Totem Pole Cactus does not have spines, so it is easy to handle.

7. Temperature

Major Totem Pole Cacti thrive between 70°F and 100°F. It is sensitive to cold temperatures below 50°F.
